Great article, Lindsay! :) Looks like you’re kicking ass over at Gusto.

The approach I’ve taken for the last few years is mostly flexible (I use BEM but use SUIT at work) but the underlying principle is to make it as easy as possible for no one else to have to write CSS. Until we consistently have protection-by-API and not by “best practice” I personally feel any CSS system with more than a few core contributors and turnover is doomed to fail. Any modern CSS system or naming architecture can be successful, until someone doesn’t follow it. Excited to see other people thinking about this and new tools arising from it! CSS Blocks is my favorite new idea to come out of this thus far.
